Next, a cleaning solution is applied to the fabric, which is then agitated with a brush to ensure it penetrates the fibers. After the solution has had time to work, the upholstery is steam cleaned using a high-pressure machine that injects hot/cool water and cleaning solution into the fabric, and then extracts the dirty water and debris.

After the cleaning is completed, furniture will be dried as soon as possible to prevent mold growth, which can happen if the fabric is not dried properly. One of the benefits of steam cleaning is that the heat can kill dust mites, bacteria, and other allergens, which is especially important for people with allergies or asthma. 

Additionally, steam cleaning can help to remove odors and stains that regular cleaning methods can't remove. Upholstery steam cleaning is suitable for a wide range of fabrics, including synthetic materials, microfiber, and natural fibers like cotton and wool, but it may not be suitable for some delicate or sensitive fabrics so it's always recommended to check with the manufacturer's cleaning instructions or consult with professional cleaner such as Gold Standard before proceeding
